Step back through time into the vivid history of Britannia – the land of the Romans, the Angles, the Saxons, the domain of the monarchs whose names echo across the millennia – Arthur, Alfred, William the Conqueror. Britannia is a historical board game set against the background of the history of the British Isles from the Roman invasion of 43AD to the Norman conquest of 1066. You will recreate some of history’s epic battles and even have the chance to subtly alter their course, creating enticing “what if” scenarios as you plot the events that shaped these islands. Speculate on the outcome if Queen Boudicca had succeeded against the Romans, consider the outcome if the Saxon invasions had been repelled, where would history have led us if William had not survived his Norman invasion in 1066. Explore the events of the millennia, the battles that shaped history – and determine the destiny of a kingdom.
