Prime Services lawyer – Top tier Investment Bank – 4+ PQE
A very prestigious top tier investment bank is seeking a Prime Services lawyer.
The successful candidate will be providing legal support to the Prime Services business within the Global Markets division of this investment bank.
The role focuses mainly on equity and fixed income financing, equity OTC derivatives, exchange traded and cleared derivatives, portfolio margining and assisting with implementation of the evolving regulatory agenda as it relates to these businesses (for example EMIR, MIFID II, AIFMD etc).
Main duties:
- Drafting and Negotiation: drafting and negotiating trading documentation.
- Structuring: legal structuring of transactions;
- Event-driven advice: advising on event-driven situations such as close-outs and disputes;
- Market Initiatives: Representing the firm on industry/market initiatives and at industry forums;
- Commoditisation: advocating, developing and implementing standard forms, templates and straight through processes;
- Counsel: Instructing external counsel and reviewing legal opinions;
- Knowledge management: Promulgating, collating, and distributing know-how, policies and guidelines.
