Senior Interim Regulatory Lawyer – Mifid II
My client is a global bank looking to expand its already well-established legal team with the addition of a seasoned lawyer well-versed in the art of negotiation of client terms, MiFID II research agreements and client queries, following MiFID II client terms outreach. This will be on an interim basis of 3-6 months.
The main responsibilities include:
- Successfully negotiating client terms and research agreements with sophisticated and high level internal and external clients.
- Providing expert advice to the markets business and ensuring that it is easily understandable, ensuring that the advice is delivered on time and is commercially proactive
- Providing a review of client queries following MiFiD outreach.
- Supporting the legal team to escalate and advise the markets business on legal risk.
- The ideal candidate would have extensive experience (14+ PQE) in commercial negotiation and legal drafting while also being able to provide commercial advice in relation to transactions and projects whether they are at an in-house or at a UK law firm. The ideal candidate will show a deep understanding of the banks activities and the commercial and regulatory environment within which it operates and all of the legal issues related to the aforementioned fields.
They will also efficiently identify and resolve issues of strategic, legal or reputational importance and will possess a thorough understanding of general banking law as well as the financial services industry as a whole. They will also demonstrate an ability to foster and maintain strong relationships with the senior executives within the business as well as to create new ones externally and will not only look to meet targets set but be driven enough to exceed them.
