In-House Permanent Role – Funds Lawyer – Global Investment Management Business – 1-3PQE
My client is a Global investment management business. They are looking to hire a Funds lawyer into a specialist team on a permanent basis.
The key purpose of the role is to manage the legal issues associated with certain of the businesses key fund structures and managed accounts. This will involve addressing any structural or operational issues and co-ordinating decision-making on fund related legal issues. Liaising with external counsel in the preparation of offering documentation and material contracts etc. will also be required.
Key responsibilities include:
- Legal Support in respect of all aspects of fund life cycles – fund launches, maintenance, amendments driven by legal or commercial factors and closures for both co-mingles funds of one and also managed accounts
- Working with internal stakeholders ( both in London and overseas ) in the structure, creation and maintenance of new fund structures
- Negotiation and drafting of fund documents, OMs, IMAs, other material contracts and ancillary documents, in conjunction with external counsel, including co-ordinating the launch of new products from a legal perspective. This includes the management of external legal advisers, budget management, fee pre-approval and invoice processing.
- Participation in or management of strategic business, product legal or custody-related projects
- Drafting submissions to fund boards and, where appropriate, participating in board meetings in respect of fund legal and corporate governance issues
A strong candidate should have at least 1 year post qualification relevant experience from either a funds team at a reputable city law firm or top tier financial organisation.
